COLIPI receives L'Oreal support for sustainable palm oil alternative

Hamburg, 14 October 2024

COLIPI has been selected for the L'Oréal Green Sciences Incubator to pursue impactful collaborations.

The startup founded at Hamburg University of Technology has been accepted into the L'Oréal Green Sciences Incubator. To initially finance their idea, the team led by CEO Maximilian Webers applied for EXIST Business Startup Grant in 2021 and received a record sum of 4.1 million euros. Thanks to this support, the team began laboratory production of renewable oil that offers a sustainable alternative to palm oil, known as ‘climate oil’.

Bio-based ingredients for sustainable solutions

The 18-month partnership with L'OREAL gives Colipi access to research teams and laboratory resources. The aim of the incubators is to further develop bio-based ingredients that reduce the environmental footprint of products and could also be used in other areas, such as the food and bioplastics industries.

Pioneer of sustainable chemistry in partnership with L'Oréal

With this initiative, Colipi is positioning itself as a pioneer in sustainable chemistry and offers environmentally friendly solutions for various industries. L'Oréal's support demonstrates both companies' commitment to innovation and sustainability.
