Hamburg University of Technology awards scholarships on the basis of the Hamburgisches Gesetz zur Förderung des wissenschaftlichen und künstlerischen Nachwuchses (HmbNFG), to give it its German name. Scholarships are awarded to especially qualified doctoral candidates who are preparing for or in the process of writing their doctoral dissertation at TU Hamburg, if the project seems likely to make a major contribution towards research.
The scholarship amounts to 1200 € per month. Childcare supplement amounts to 154 €.
Per funding period, material and travel costs up to 1,023 € can be reimbursed.
Scholarships can be granted as basic scholarships or completion scholarships. A scholarship will initially be granted for one year and can be extended upon application. A scholarship may be granted for a shorter period if the purpose of the funding can be achieved during this time. Please indicate your desired scholarship start date in your application.
A scholarship cannot be granted, if the applicant is employed more than small-scale (more than four hours per week).
