Welcome to TUHH! Join us for our Welcome Day and get to know the International Affairs team, your fellow students, and the TUHH campus. The programme includes a campus rallye, bingo, mingling, an introduction to Germany, and an information session with everything you need to get started at TUHH.

The IT Service Center (ITSC) welcomes all international students to an introductory information session on the university's IT services. During the session, we will provide an overview of the most important digital services you will need throughout your studies. Topics include your university account and common login issues, IT security, eduroam, VPN, PC pools, printing, SOGo Webmail, and the eLearning platform. We will also show you where to find your study plan in TUNE and your NTA. Join us to get started with the university's IT services and learn where to find support whenever you need it.

Where is the Hamburg Palace? What does the Inner Alster Lake have to do with a miller? And how long does it take for a message in a bottle to reach the North Sea? Is the water in the harbour salty and how many containers can fit on the largest container ship? 

In this combination of city walk, quiz and scavenger hunt, we show you the city centre with the town hall and the stock exchange, the Speicherstadt and Hafencity and take the ferry from the Elbphilharmonie to the Landungsbrücken. During this varied and dynamic Hamburg-Tour, the teams discover the harbour city in a playful way – and, eventually, there is a little surprise for the winning group!  Our Welcome Tutors will meet you at the Campus and accompany the group during the rally.

Studying at a university in a new country means encountering new perspectives, ways of communicating, and academic traditions.

In this workshop, we will explore the basics of intercultural communication and look at how cultural differences can shape everyday interactions and experiences at university. We will share experiences, exchange perspectives, and explore a few practical ideas for navigating an international university environment.

We are visiting the Hanseatic city of Lübeck, Germany’s most extensive UNESCO World Heritage Site. With six church towers surpassing 100 metres, Lübeck is the city with the highest number of tall church towers worldwide. We take the train from Hamburg main station in the morning and return there in the early evening. 

Once we arrive, we’ll go on a guided sightseeing walk, followed by a lunch together in a restaurant with vegetarian / vegan options. After lunch we’ll enjoy the view of the city from the top of one of the church towers in Lübeck. In the afternoon, you’ll have some freetime in Lübeck, splitting in smaller groups and meeting again before our train to Hamburg departs. 

This excursion is a great opportunity to get to know this beautiful city and connect with fellow international students at the TUHH.
