The FitING in Germany programme is designed specifically for international students who are looking to live and work in Germany long-term. The programme supports international students in successfully completing their studies and then starting their careers in Germany.
We welcome all talented individuals from around the globe, giving them the strategic tools they need to always have wind in their sails!
Our bespoke programme will continue to expand.
Workshops and individual consultation
Our workshops for international talents will guide you through the interview process. Experienced trainers provide tips on writing a CV, storytelling in a cover letter, and the job interview itself. You can also book an individual career development consultation with the team at any time. We offer advice on application documents, career planning, and developing a career strategy.
Our new German (DaF) courses and workshops for international students take you through the whole process from hunting for a job, to applying, to starting your career. Our courses and workshops also prepare you for key aspects of the German job market, and help you build intercultural competence.
Our networking events put international students in touch with employers that have an open corporate culture, and truly care about the career development of their international employees. The TUHH Alumni & Career Talks are a further opportunity to hear successful international alumni speak about how they started their own careers in Germany.
We arrange regular excursions, providing opportunities for international students to get to know different companies, and network throughout Germany. Whether it is a trip to Berlin with a visit to the Bundestag or a boat trip on the Elbe, these excursions help students to drop anchor in Germany, to feel at home with German culture, and to take their first steps in their careers.
As of winter semester 2024/25, the Career Center offers a certificate in Agile Project Management & Leadership (a microcredential worth 4 ECTS). As part of the Fishing for Experience programme, you can work on a real company project, putting agile project management skills into practice.
We are continually expanding our business network under the motto “Norden Weltoffen” (Northern Germany – Open to the World). We put students and graduates in touch with companies that have an open corporate culture. We will also be offering networking events and tangible opportunities for companies that want to hire international talent.
TUHH-Alumni
We involve TUHH alumni in our programme, so that students can build their professional network early on, and profit from the experience of international alumni who are now successfully working in Germany. At our Alumni & Career Talks, international alumni speak about their career paths and give advice on starting a career in Germany.
