Urban Sketching Walkshop - Hamburg Habour

Outdoor Drawing Workshop

Create your own sketching diary on this 3-hour tour - a sketchwalk - through the Port of Hamburg. Our drawings will tell their own story and show a very personal picture of the city. We explore the Port of Hamburg with pen and paper from near and far. We will do exercises in finding and realizing motifs, try out materials- illustrator Martin Rathscheck will give you tips and show you tricks on sketching. The goal is to train your vision and to enjoy drawing.

Meeting point: S-Bahn/U-Bahn stop Landungsbrücken, on the pedestrian bridge.

Drawing in the Zoological/Ethnological Museums of Hamburg

Indoor Drawing Workshop with illustrator Martin Rathscheck

Create your own animal (or objects) sketch book on this 3-hour tour through the Zoological/Ethnological Museum of Hamburg. Numerous fascinating animal specimens can be found here. From giant whale skeletons to tiny insects, animals from all over the world can be discovered in all sizes, shapes and colors. We explore the exhibition with pen and paper, do exercises in finding and realizing motifs, try out materials, and I will give you tips and show you tricks on sketching.

At the Museum you will be asked for your contact details and masks are compulsory for all persons present in the museum.

Comic Crash Course

Learn how to create your own mini comic story! In this Comic Crash Workshop you’ll get a brief introduction into „How to do comics“ and storytelling. After a few funny little exercises to get loose in drawing you are going to dive directly into your own mini comic project! Comics artist and illustrator Martin Rathscheck will show you how to invent a storyline, improve it and find a surprising punch line in the team exchange.
