From March 19 to 21, 2025, the joint annual meeting 2025 of the DECHEMA/VDI expert groups “Mixing Processes”, “High Pressure Process Engineering” and “Multiphase Flows” took place at the TU Hamburg with over 150 participants. During the event, lectures and posters from industry, universities and research institutions were presented on current topics of the expert groups.

The joint event provided interesting impulses and new ideas for process control, modeling, design and scale-up. The three jointly meeting specialist groups were able to discuss new developments that deal with mixing processes in multiphase flows under high pressure.

In the joint plenary sessions, Prof. Andreas Liese (TU Hamburg) presented biocatalytic processes under pressure, Prof. Dieter Bothe (TU Darmstadt) provided deep insights into transport processes in multicomponent systems, and Prof. Cees Haringa (TU Delft) discussed the reproducibility of numerical simulations.

In addition to lectures and technical discussions in the auditorium, poster sessions with introductory short talks offered the opportunity to present work in the early stages of development.

Founded as a young investigators group of the Fluid Dynamics and Separation Technology Section, the YoungFluidSeps invited doctoral students, group leaders and early-career professionals in industry to an interdisciplinary exchange. An open networking event was held on the first evening of the conference.

On the second day, all participants were invited on board the museum ship “Rickmer Rickmers”. This offered the opportunity to make contacts and engage in interesting conversations outside of the scientific program.

On the last day of the annual meeting, the Professor Siegfried Peter Prize 2025 was awarded to Dr. Baldur Schroeter. In addition, the specialist groups honored excellent lectures and the best posters at the event.
