Missions to the moon and Mars are increasingly attracting interest in the field of manned space travel. What does this mean for researchers and space travelers? This question was the focus of the latest “Future Lecture” at Hamburg University of Technology in October. A particular highlight of the event was that TU Hamburg was able to welcome Dr. Markus Braun from the German Aerospace Center (DLR) as a guest speaker.

In September 2024, the “7th International Seminar on Aerogels” offered researchers, students and industry representatives from around the world a platform to exchange ideas on the latest developments in aerogel research. Aerogels, known for their unique properties such as extreme lightness and excellent insulation, are becoming increasingly important in industry and research.

From September 15 to 17, 2024, more than 90 scientists and practitioners met at the Hamburg University of Technology for the Continuous Innovation Network (CINet) conference, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. Under the direction of Prof. Tim Schweisfurth and Prof. Moritz Göldner, the participants exchanged their insights and experiences on the topic of collaborative innovation.

In September, the Hamburg University of Technology invited its alumni to the 5th “Homecoming” – with a barbecue on the Schwarzenberg campus and a festive champagne reception at the Empire Riverside Hotel. Around 200 alumni, including guests from Singapore, Mexico, Belgium, Switzerland, Sweden and Spain, made their way to Hamburg to take part in this special event.
