The award of the title is a special honour that is only conferred on the basis of outstanding achievements - comparable to those of a regularly appointed professor. Candidates often have a high level of practical relevance and thus optimally complement teaching.
As Director of Enzyme E2E Process Transfer at BASF, Dr Freyer was a valuable resource for the students, passing on his expertise in his engaging courses ‘Bioprocess Development in Industrial Practice’ and ‘Industrial Bioprocess Engineering’.
Prof Dr Freyer's lectures not only deepen students' understanding of strategies in industrial bioprocess development, but also provide hands-on learning opportunities, especially during the field trip to BASF. This hands-on experience is a highlight of their Master's programme and enriches their academic journey.
We congratulate Prof Dr Freyer and look forward to seeing how his contributions to research and teaching at the TUHH will flourish. We wish him all the best in this new role!
