Successful presentation of innovative software projects

Entwicklung gestengesteuerter Computerspiele für Mikrocontroller mit einem simplen Ansatz für komplexe Technik

Students presented impressive practical projects in the field of software development

On January 28, an impressive presentation of software projects developed as part of the Computer Science Engineering internship took place. The students had the opportunity to expand their theoretical knowledge through practical work and get to know essential tools and methods of software development.
Working in teams, the students acquired valuable skills that are necessary for the successful implementation of software projects. These included the specification of software based on user-oriented requirements, the interaction of computing systems with the environment, the development of a sound software architecture and the joint implementation and testing of the software using modern development tools.

The event began with a series of exciting presentations in which students presented the projects they had worked on during the current semester:

  • “Watering”: an automated plant irrigation system with a user-friendly interface (at the Institute for Embedded Systems).
  • “Smart Lab”: A project for visitor flow measurement, developed from self-built sensors to an interactive user interface (at the Institute for Autonomic Cyber-Physical Systems).
  • Development of gesture-controlled computer games for microcontrollers with a simple approach to complex technology (at the Institute for Networked Cyber-Physical Systems).
  • “SoftSecShop”: A security and function optimization ranging from vulnerability analysis to the implementation of new features (at the Institute for Sofware Security).

After the presentations, the IIW internship fair provided a platform to take a closer look at the presentations. Poster sessions and the interactive exhibition facilitated the exchange between students and guests.
This event was particularly instructive for those who still have the IIW internship ahead of them and provided valuable insights and inspiration for future projects.
