Living in Hamburg

Unfortunately, the housing situation in Hamburg remains very tight and affordable housing is extremely scarce. For useful information, check out the following website:

Accommodation for Students and Trainees: STW Hamburg

International students arriving in Germany to start their course will find further information at the Accomodation Office of TU Hamburg's International Office.

Housing Allowance

Needy students who are "basically not entitled to BAföG" grants or loans can apply for housing allowance (Wohngeld). Needy and not a BaföG recipient? Check with the Studierendenwerk Hamburg exactly what conditions you must fulfill to qualify for housing allowance.
