Research presentations, pitch talks and poster session for students

EIMday 2024 at the School of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics

The first EIMday took place on Wednesday 15 May. The event was opened by Prof Wolfgang Kersten, Vice President for Education, and Prof Gerhard Bauch, Dean of the School of Electrial Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics. Both emphasised the outstanding opportunities for students at the TUHH and highlighted in particular the excellent integration of research and teaching.

As alumni keynote speaker, Ujunwa Irogbarachi (NXP Semiconductors), an Information and Communication Systems graduate, told the current students about her career path and gave valuable tips for her own career planning.

Finn Nußbaum (E-6), Lucas Bublitz (E-EXK3), Dominik Langer (E-3), Julia Wüpperling (E-24), Jakob Frerichs (E-EXK8) and Sophie Externbrink (E-10) presented their latest research findings in exciting pitch talks. Various subject areas of the School, such as energy supply and medical technology, were addressed, reflecting the diversity and breadth of research at the School and emphasising the interdisciplinary and future-oriented focus of the research projects.

Afterwards, the almost 200 students were able to exchange ideas with the researchers from the institutes during a poster session and gain deeper insights into their work. The researchers also took the opportunity to network and discuss the latest developments in their fields.

Thanks for this great event go to all those involved, who put a lot of commitment and vigour into creating an excellent platform for exchange and networking between students and researchers.
