The Section Incoming and Integration of the Department International Affairs is a service and contact point for international students, PhD students, exchange students from partner universities and guest researchers.

We will be happy to assist you by arranging important formalities and finding Accommodation after your arrival in Hamburg and at TUHH, to help you get off to a good start on your study course.
Introduce you to the university system and provide you with practical information for organisation of your studies. Intercultural workshops and networking events help you to integrate into the campus community more easily. Campus rallies, sightseeing tours and networking events round off the program..
offer plenty of (inter)cultural activities, International Get Togethers, trainings and workshops to expand professional, personal and language skills important for study and future career.
We support students in gain and improve their German language competency (DAF) by organising German language courses at TUHH as well as various additional activities and platforms for intercultural learning and exchange outside the curriculum.
The International Office offers general orientation to help researchers to organize their stay at TUHH, information on the contact points, including practical tips on topics related to living and studying at TUHH and in Hamburg.
Recognition of social and intercultural commitment
Certificate of Intercultural Competencies (CIC) With the CIC, special skills and voluntary commitment of students in the intercultural area can be bundled and highlighted.
DAAD Prize honouring international students demonstrating exceptional social and intercultural commitment as well as exceptional academic prowess.
Since 2012, The Hamburg University of Technology has been a signatory to the Code of Conduct, which aims "to improve and ensure the quality of supervision for international students. The Code formulates quality standards for international students at German universities and, for the first time, provides common basic standards in the fields of information, acquisition, admisson and supervision upon which international applicants can rely" (see also www.hrk.de). The Code of Conduct was conceived and passed by the German Rectors' Conference and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) within the framework of GATE Germany.
