Finnisch-German Exchange of Research about the Development of Productfamilies
Description
Since 2016 there is a close cooperation between the PKT and Prof. Kevin Otto of the Aalto University in Espoo near Helsinki, Finnland. The goal of the DAAD-funded cooperation ist, to create a common international comprehension in the research field of the development of modular product families.
Results
From 2016 to 2018 there have been mutliple workshops in Aalto as well as Hamburg during which the coomong ground within the research was elaborated. Additionally the bi-yearly international Summer School of Product Architecture Design was held twice within the cooperation. Both times Prof. Otto supported the organisation and enriched the event with workshops and presentations. In 2018 the funded personal exchange allowed to conduct the Summer School in the Design Factory of Aalto University.
Results of the cooperation lead to two joint publications; a journal-contribution as well as a paper publicated in 22nd International Conference on Engineering Design (ICED19).
Even after the end of the funded cooperations, the contact to Prof. Kevin Otto and the Aalto University is ongoing.
