CompoSeat
Aims
In this joint research project a composite aircraft seat is developed in collaboration with the Lufthansa Technik AG and AIDA Development GmbH.
Key topics of the project are
- the development of a novel and material appropriate concept for aircraft seating
- the development of a modular product structure in order to configure a high external product variety while minimizing the internal variety of components and procedures
- lightweight design by appropriate usage of fibre reinforced plastics
Approach
- research and analysis of state-of-the-art technologies
- analysis of requirements
- research on feasible materials
- material appropriate design of primary structure
- FEM analysis and optimization
- Design for Variety and modularization of the product family
- testing of material and components
The project is founded by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi) within the fourth civil Aeronautical Research Programme (LUFO IV)
