The DfX-Symposium provides young researchers in the field of product design a platform for the exchange of new ideas and approaches. Engineering professionals as well as professors enable a broad discussion due to their specific experiences.

The DfX-Symposium is organised in turn annually by the Engineering Design at the Friedrich-Alexander Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, the Institut für Technische Produktentwicklung at the Universität der Bundeswehr München, and the Institute of Product Development and Mechanical Engineering Design at the Hamburg University of Technology.  Prof. Krause, Prof. Paetzold und Prof. Wartzack carry on Prof. Meerkamm's work, who initiated this Symposium.
