As the first experiment in the field of product development in the FLPE - Fachlabor Konstruktion, Werkstoffe, Fertigung (FLPE - Specialist laboratory for design, materials and production) ,we are pursuing the goal of using the sheet metal design development simulator to teach cross-generational sheet metal design in an entertaining, research-oriented project event.

As part of the specialist laboratory, basic mechanisms and types of design research in product development are discussed. Subsequently, a practical development task is carried out in small groups using a development task of sheet metal elements of a grill, which is scientifically accompanied and evaluated by the students.
