  • explain requirements, selection criteria, application scenarios and practical examples of simple machine elements

  • Perform design calculations of treated machine elements
  • transfer knowledge learned in the module to new requirements and tasks (problem-solving competence)
  • to understand technical drawings and sketches of principles

  • Students are able to exchange ideas about technical content within the framework of activating methods in the lecture.

  • Introduction to the subject of design engineering
  • Introduction to design
  • Introduction to the following machine elements:
    • Detachable connections (screws)
    • Shaft-hub connections
    • Rolling bearings
    • Welded/adhesive/brazed connections
    • Springs
    • Axles & shafts
  • Representation of technical objects and preparation of manufacturing documents (technical drawing).

Lecture Hall Exercise:    

  • Calculation procedures for the design of the following machine elements:
    • Detachable connections (screws)
    • Shaft-hub connections
    • Rolling bearings
    • Welded/adhesive/brazed connections
    • Springs
    • Axles & Shafts
