CO2-sorption in polymers

Dr. Philip Jaeger

Problems concerning gas entering polymers are encountered in different fields of application, such as sealing of high pressure gas vessels, and polymer tubing for use as flexible gas pipes. Especially carbon dioxide as a high ability of dissolving in glassy polymers changing properties like density and glass point. Optical and gravimetrical methods are used for determining the solubility, and diffusivity at process conditions.
