The objective of enhanced oil and gas recovery is to improve the efficiency of gas and oil production from the reservoirs. Additives are used for changing wetting conditions in order to improve efficiency of the upstream oil and gas production process. Not only surfactant solutions are investigated but also application of carbon dioxide for displacing oil and gas in the reservoir and possibly storing CO2 for its sequestration.
