7. Juni 2024: Promotion am Institut für Wasserbau von Herrn Philipp Jordan
Am 07. Juni 2024 hat Herr Philipp Jordan seinen Promotionsvortrag mit dem Titel “Nature-based Solutions for sandy coasts as sustainable adaptation measures to climate change - A contribution to the broadened conceptual understanding of NbS from an engineering as well as a societal perspective" präsentiert. Die darauf folgende Promotionsprüfung hat er mit "sehr gut" bestanden.
Das gesamte Wasserbau-Team gratuliert herzlich Herrn Jordan zur bestandenen Promotion!
17. Mai 2024: Promotion am Institut für Wasserbau von Herrn Yohannis Birhanu Tadesse
Am 17. Mai 2024 hat Herr Yohannis Birhanu Tadesse seinen Promotionsvortrag mit dem Titel "Integrated Modelling of Riverine Levee Breaches
and Subsequent Inundation of Protected Areas" präsentiert. Die anschließende Promotionsprüfung bestand er mit der Note "sehr gut".
Das gesamte Wasserbau-Team gratuliert herzlich Herrn Tadesse zur bestandenen Promotion!
07. May, 2024: A field trip to the River Este in Buxtehude for IMPEE and WAU Master Students
As a part of the Module Management of Surface Water, a field trip to the rIver Este in the area of Buxtehude has been organised and conducted on May 7th, 2024. For approx. 15 students of Master Programs Environmental Engineering (IMPEE) and Water and Environmental Engineering (WAU) it was an opportunity to experience the processes in the river and relate them to the modelling and design tasks done in the classroom. One of the highlights has been the visit to the construction site of the new fish passage that is expected to enhance the ecologic value of the river Este in its urban setting, that has been put into operation earlier this year (Photo: Students with the Course Coordinator Htun Pyae Sone and Dr. Natasa Manojlovic).
25. April, 2024 Girls's Day @ Institut für Wasserbau: Was ist eigentlich eine Schwammstadt?
Was ist eigentlich eine Schwammstädt? Warum sind sie gut? Wie macht man eine Schwammstadt?
Diesen Fragen war der Girls' Day-Workshop am Institut für Wasserbau gewidmet.
12 Mädchen im Alter von 10 bis 16 Jahren konnten unter der Anleitung von Dr. Natasa Manojlovic diese Fragen aktiv beantworten.
Es wurde präsentiert, diskutiert und gebastelt. Am Ende konnten die Mädchen der Gruppe ihre eigenen Ideen für die schwammartige Gestaltung von Städten vorstellen.
20. February, 2024 & 01. May, 2024: Registration now open! International Conference on Nature-Based Solutions for Water Security and Climate Adaptation
The International Conference on Nature-Based Solutions for Water Security, to be held in Belgrade, Serbia, 3 -5. July 2024, could be a great possibility to share your NBS related work within a wider community of experts, decision makers, practitioners and researchers. The Conference is held as the final conference of the H2020 Project RECONECT (on large scale Nature-Based Solutions.
The extended abstracts are due March 31st 2024.
Registration closes May 31st, 2024!
