Uniaxial compression test according to DIN EN ISO 17892-7
Status: 10.12.2024
- Compression test
- Tension test
In the uniaxial compression test, a cylindrical or cuboid-shaped soil specimen is axially compressed with unimpeded radial expansion. The axial feed rate is specified, and the axial stress is measured. The uniaxial compressive strength qu is determined when the maximum axial stress is reached, as well as the elastic modulus Eu as the tangent slope of the stress-strain curve.
The test specimen is installed centrally in the testing machine and the axial force is measured at a constant deformation rate.
Device for producing the test specimens, load frame with a clear width and height of 30 cm, load cells for maximum loads of 50 kg, 10 kN, 20 kN, 50 kN, 100 kN, strain rates continuously variable from 10 to 0.0001 mm/min.
