Physical modelling — 1g model tests

Investigation of processes taking place in the soil in a physical model on a geometric scale of 1:n under the influence of simple gravitational acceleration (1g model tests). Selected investigation using different model test rigs:

• Investigation of jet grouting
• Investigation of retaining walls like quay walls
• Investigation of the behaviour of monopile foundations under cyclic horizontal loading with constant or varying load direction
• Investigation of sedimentation processes
• Investigation of the stability of underwater slopes
• Investigation of embankments and dikes
• Investigation of pile driving (combined translational and rotational drive)

We also have a Schneebeli test rig in which failure processes in the soil can be investigated on a model scale.
