Participation

We are looking forward to an exciting Forum Bauinformatik 2024 and to receiving contributions from the subject areas mentioned below. Please note that only non-doctorate-holders are eligible to co-author and submit papers, so as to encourage students and doctoral candidates to publish their research. Papers co-authored by doctorate holders (e.g. professors or post-docs) will be rejected. The deadlines and templates are listed below.

The registration period for the conference has ended.

Registration for GACCE professors is still possible. Please contact the organisation at: fbi2024@tuhh.de

Abstracts

The submission of abstracts will be open from March 1 to April 22, 2024. Please read carefully the following instructions:

  • The abstract length must not exceed 200 words.
  • The submission of the abstracts will be done exclusively via the online submission system ConfTool.
  • The text, authorship, and title of your contribution must be entered into the corresponding fields at ConfTool.
  • During abstract submission, three topics and up to five keywords relevant to your abstract may be chosen.

Upon completing the review of the abstracts, the corresponding authors will receive notification of acceptance or rejection.

Full Paper

The submission of full papers will be open from May 1 to July 7, 2024. Please read the following information carefully:

  • The FBI aims at offering young researchers the opportunity to gain a first experience in publishing scientific contributions at a conference. Therefore, we would like to emphasize that authorship must be restricted to young researchers without a PhD.
  • Contributions may be submitted in both German and English language.
  • Contributions must be submitted exclusively via our online submission system ConfTool.
  • Manuscripts must be prepared using the templates provided. Templates are available for both LaTeX and Microsoft Word. All formal components are included and already formatted.
  • Contributions must not exceed 8 pages (including references) in printing format. Detailed information on formatting the manuscripts is available in the templates.

The full-paper contributions will undergo a double-blind peer-review process.

  • Please do not include any information on authors' names and affiliations in the paper or in the file names during the first submission (before the peer-review process).
  • The anonymization of the full paper is only required during first submission to avoid bias in the review process. Anonymization is not required for the submission of the final paper (after the peer-review process).
  • The double-blind peer-review process is organized according to the motto "by young researchers for young researchers". This means that all first authors who have submitted a paper will be assigned two papers for review.

You will receive all the information necessary for the review process at a later date.

Final Paper

The submission of final papers will be open from July 28 to August 25, 2024. Please read the following information carefully:

  • Final papers must be submitted via our online submission system ConfTool.
  • Final papers must adhere to the formatting instructions, provided in the templates.
  • For the final paper submission, the original files must be submitted, i.e. the LaTeX project folder as a compressed (ZIP) file or the Word document, as well as a PDF version of your contribution.

Presentations

The conference program is available under "Program". The presenting authors are underlined. If you wish to change presenting authors, please let us know via a short email to fbi2024@tuhh.debefore the start of the conference. We would like to ask all presenting authors to keep to the presentation time within 10 minutes, followed by approximately 5 minutes for discussion. We have also prepared a FBI template that we recommend to be used by all presenting authors. You may download the template here: Presentation Template. Shortly before the conference, it will be possible to upload the presentation files to ConfTool. Alternatively, presentation files must be handed to the session chair 15 minutes before the start of the respective session. Presentations may be given in German or English language, regardless of the language used in the contribution.

Conference management system

Submissions are made via ConfTool.

In ConfTool you can:
