The "Forum Bauinformatik" is an annual event that aims to promote scientific exchange between young researchers from the field of computing in civil engineering.

The Forum Bauinformatik was first organized in Weimar in 1989 as an event by professors of computing in civil engineering for researchers and students. The first forum "by young scientists for young scientists" took place in Cottbus in 1990. In 1991 in Berlin, the name "Forum Bauinformatik" was coined. Since then, young researchers from the field of computing in civil engineering have met every year to discuss their work. The Forum Bauinformatik is organized annually by a chair or institute of the participating universities of the Bauinformatik working group.
