Vision of the Institute for Algorithms and Complexity

We want to be an internationally leading institute in the computer science of algorithms for optimization problems. Based on mathematical, algorithmic and complexity-theoretical skills, we succeed in generating new algorithms and complexity proofs that provably enable a deeper understanding of the optimization problems and the applications derived from them, in order to solve them more efficiently and effectively.

Our way of working is based on the guiding principle of international and interdisciplinary cooperation and on common, scientifically demanding goals.

In terms of studies and teaching, we offer a well-founded mathematical and computer science education that enables our graduates to understand cyber-physical and economic systems and mechanisms in science and industry and to optimize them with regard to efficiency.
