Purpose of data processing and consequences of not providing personal data
The student conference is an event of the TUHH, HAW, HSU, UKE, UHH and UKE (Organization 2025). During the event, photographs will be taken by employees of the participating universities for documentation and public relations purposes (press work, reporting on the event on the websites of the participating universities, as well as to announce the follow-up event at the UKE).
For photographs that do not document the character of the event but focus on individual persons (e.g. at the presentation of the prize), you will be asked for your consent in individual cases. In the event that no consent is given for these photographs to be taken or consent is withdrawn, there will be no disadvantages.
Legal basis:
Photographs that reflect the character of the event (overview photographs): Art. 6 para. 1 lit. e i.V.m. Art. 6 para. 2 and 3 GDPR in conjunction with. § Section 4 HmbDSG
The UKE will ask for your consent for other recordings that, for example, focus on people (speakers, individual recordings): Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR.
Recipients:
Selected photos are made available to the public through the publications.
Duration of storage:
The photos for which consent was obtained because it was required will be deleted immediately upon withdrawal of consent. Otherwise, photos are stored until the purpose no longer applies.
If the documents are worthy of archiving, they will be taken over by the University Archive, where they will generally be stored indefinitely.
