Students of Master's degree programme Civil Engineering and International Industrial Engineering, part of the module "Underground Construction", mandatory course for students with specialization in "Geotechnical Engineering" and "Port Construction and Flood Protection", compulsory elective course in "Structural Engineering".

Content
The course teaches the theoretical fundamentals of tunnel construction and tunnel statics and then applies and deepens these in practical exercises.

- Geological basicvs, wear and adhesion issues
- Tunnel construction and excavation methods
- Planning of tunnel structures
- Statisc calculation in tunnelling
- Literature and information sources
Examination
- Part of writte module exam
- Written paper and short presentation. For the voluntary paper and short presentation you will receive up to 5% of the points in the exam (part “Introduction to Tunnelling”) as a bonus.
