In-House Codes

The Institute for Fluid Dynamics and Ship Theory (FDS) develops the following software:

  • panMARE – our in-house panel code, panMARE, is a command-driven programme and potential-based solver for all kinds of flow simulations, but with a special focus on marine applications. It has been developed in cooperation with leading propulsor manufacturers and ship yards in order to meet the requirements of the marine industry.
  • elbe – a highly efficient academic flow solver for the simulation of non-linear three-dimensional flow problems, elbe has been developed since late 2010, with external partners and contributors at University of Rhode Island and TU Braunschweig.
  • FreSCo+ –  a viscous hydrodynamic simulation tool which features both industrial applicability (i.e. robustness and process compliance) and accuracy. FreSCo+ is jointly developed and used by TUHH as well as the Hamburg Ship Model Bassin (HSVA).
