Biography

Teresa Algarra received her B.Sc. in Telecommunications Engineering in 2019 from the University of Granada, in Spain. During her bachelor studies she took part in two mobilities abroad, the first one being at Linköping's University in Sweden, and the second one being at the University of California, Santa Barbara, in the United States of America. The latter is where she wrote her Bachelor's Thesis in collaboration with Wright Electric, "Battery Management System for Exotic Batteries in Electric Planes". After that she studied her M.Sc. in Information and Communication Systems Engineering at the Hamburg University of Technology, where she wrote her Master's Thesis on the topic "Machine Learning-Based Dynamic Spectrum Access for Aircraft-to-Aircraft Communication under Coexistence with Legacy Radio Systems" at the Institute of Communication Networks. During her M.Sc. she undertook an internship at the European Space Agency, working on projects related to lunar communications.

She is currently a research fellow and Ph.D. candidate at the Institute of Communication Networks working on the topic of space communications with the European Space Agency, more specifically on addressing Quality of Service (QoS) over Delay- and Disruption-Tolerant Networks (DTN) and Bundle Protocol (BP). She is an active member at the Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems (CCSDS), having presented at several of their meetings, and she has also been invited to present at the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) meetings.
