Alexander Kölpin elected Chairman of the Germany Chapter of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)

Joint board with colleagues from the University of Ulm and the TU Cottbus-Senftenberg for the Joint Chapter of the Microwave Theory and Technology Society (MTT-S) and the Antennas and Propagation Society (AP-S) of the IEEE Germany Section

Prof. Alexander Kölpin, Head of the Institute of High Frequency Technology at Hamburg University of Technology, was elected Chairman by the members of the IEEE Germany Section of the Joint Chapter of the Microwave Theory and Technology Society (MTT-S) and the Antennas and Propagation Society (AP-S). The IEEE, short for the "Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers", is the world's largest professional society in the field of electrical engineering and information technology. Known for the development of standards in various technical fields such as electronics, telecommunications, information technology and energy, the organization promotes the exchange of information and cooperation between professionals worldwide. The office is filled by all members based in Germany every two years by secret ballot and represents all members based in Germany and organized in the IEEE with a focus on high-frequency technology, antennas and wave propagation.

Prof. Alexander Kölpin takes over the chairmanship together with Prof. Christian Damm from the University of Ulm as Co-Chair and Prof. Markus Gardill from the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg as Treasurer. Together they form the board of the joint German specialist group of MTT-S and AP-S for topics relating to high-frequency technology, antennas and wave propagation.

Prof. Kölpin is honored by the trust of the members and, together with Prof. Damm and Prof. Gardill, will focus on driving progress in these technical areas, promoting the exchange of information and strengthening joint research and development in Germany.
