Agroforestry in the Bolivian Andes
Preferably in combination with data collection for a
Bachelor or Master thesis
Where? Mollesnejta - Institute for Andean Agroforestry, 23 ha with different agroforestry consortia, in the valley of Cochabamba /
Bolivia, about 25 km from the metropolitan city of Cochabamba (airport), above the Quechua village of Combuyo (4,000 inhab.), at about 2,800 m altitude, just below the 5,035 m Tunari peak; healthy high altitude climate.
When: Anytime, minimum 2 months. Up to 3 months entry is free with a tourist visa (obtained at the arrival airport). If the internship is to last 6 months, it is best to arrive in October and stay until March. Stays of more than 90 days in the same year require a visa, which must be applied for at the consulate in Berlin before departure:

How: Letter of motivation, details of a research topic if possible.
We have some research questions on offer. Laboratory is available.
What: free accommodation, collaboration in the agroforestry plots, enough time for data collection, accompaniment on inland extension trips possible.
Other: Health insurance, liability insurance, round-trip airfare and meals at own expense. We also offer to send an internship contract so that the internship can be funded by DAAD / elsewhere (Mollesnejta is known at DAAD).
