During his visit, a number of meetings were held to discuss the potential integration of SAFT and COSMO-RS theory to create an advanced thermodynamic prediction model. The discussions addressed the complexity of developing and modelling thermodynamic systems.
Furthermore, Professor Chapman had the opportunity to visit the group of Professor Gerrit Luinstra at the University of Hamburg (UHH) to observe their experiments on swelling hydrogels. These insights are particularly valuable for developing models for the equilibrium states and kinetics of these materials.
Professor Chapman's input was pivotal in advancing the CRC´s research projects. The discussions offered invaluable insights from a leading thermodynamics expert in an informal setting. His role as a Mercator Fellow within the CRC 1615 is a great asset and we look forward to future visits and collaborations.
