This annual event brought together 18 participants from around the globe, each focused on researching a unique aspect of biofilms. Organized in collaboration with Harald Horn and Michael Wagner from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), and Cristian Picioreanu from the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), the course rotates annually among the organizers' labs.
The week gave inspiring insights into biofilm science, from advanced bioimaging techniques to microenvironmental analysis and biofilm modelling. By combining lectures and hands-on workshops, this course not only deepened our colleagues' technical skills but also connected them with researchers who share a passion for understanding biofilms.
