The multidisciplinary research of Felix Löffler, who recently received a DFG Heisenberg Fellowship and the DECHEMA Prize, focuses on surface science and interface engineering using lasers. He currently develops multi-material 3d nanoprinting technologies to enable novel functional devices and responsive materials, as well as to design nanomaterials for catalysis.
During his stay in Hamburg, Dr. Löffler visited many institutes at the TUHH and gained a comprehensive insight into the CRC's research: Institute of Multiphase Flows (Prof. Schlüter), Institute of Process Solids Engineering (Prof. Heinrich, Dr.-Ing. Pietsch), Institute for Industrialization of Smart Materials (Prof. Kelbassa, Dr.-Ing. Herzog) Institute of Polymers and Composites (Prof. Fiedler), Institute of Reaction Engineering (Prof. Horn), Institute for Materials and X-Ray Physics (Prof. Huber), Institute of Process Imaging (Prof. Alexander Penn) and Institute of Microsystems Technology (Prof. Trieu). The discussions provided some exciting starting points for future collaborations within the CRC and beyond.
