Short Biographie

Jonas Schnurr studied B.Sc. of Process Engineering from 2017-2021 and M.Sc. of Process Engineering form 2021-2024 at Hamburg University of Technology. He graduated with the master thesis “Simulation and Rigorous Optimization for Efficiency Enhancement of Heat Pump assisted Distillation Processes Considering Refrigerant Effects”. Since July 2024, he is working as a Ph.D. student at the institute of Process Systems Engineering.

Field of research

In his research, Jonas Schnurr deals with the design and operation of thermally coupled distillation sequences without vapor transfer (Liquid-Only-Transfer). In addition to the development of model-based methods for the optimal design, the focus is also on the practical operability of LOT sequences. For this purpose, a LOT sequence is operated on a pilot plant scale and comprehensively analyzed.
