Short biography

Alina Dobschall completed her bachelor's degree in Process Engineering at Hamburg University of Technology from 2015 to 2019. She then studied Process Engineering in the master program at Hamburg University of Technology and at University of Waterloo in Canada from 2019 to 2022. Her master thesis focused on the simulative and experimental analysis of fluid dynamics in additively manufactured structured packings. Since August 2022 she is working as a PhD student at the Institute of Process Systems Engineering.

Field of research

In her research, Alina Dobschall deals with optimizations of structured packings for thermal separation columns based on CFD simulations. The aim is to improve the performance characteristics of the structured packings. Her research also includes experimental investigations that are used to evaluate the performance characteristics of the structured packings and to verify the results of the CFD simulations.
