Vorlesung (Lehre)
Veranstaltungsnummer:

DozentIn:
Prof. Dr. Tim Schweisfurth
Beschreibung:

The course focuses on organizational design andcollaboration engineering across the boundaries of the firm: How can wedesign/engineer an organization’s interactions across the firm boundary suchthat it favors innovation?

The class will cover topics such as the boundaries of thefirm (transfer of knowledge across borders, absorptive capacity, boundaryobjects, gatekeepers), incentives for innovation (private and collective goods, private collective model of innovation, selective benefits), collaborationbetween companies (technology and R&D partnerships, alliances, freerevealing), collaboration of firms and science (types of academic engagement, open science), collaboration between industry and users (user co-creation anduser integration), collaborative communities (open source, innovationcommunities), crowdsourcing (wisdom of the crowds), ecosystems (complementaryassets, bottlenecks, value creation, value capture), platforms, (platforms, network effects, lock-in effect, tipping, concentration, complements).
