The elbe code is seamlessly integrated into the education at the Institute for Fluid Dynamics and Ship Theory (FDS). The lecture on "Innovative CFD Approaches"  e.g. gives an introduction to Lattice Boltzmann methods and high performance computing on GPGPUs. Subsequently, the elbe code is used to work on smaller research projects, in groups of two to five students.

After the fundamental education in LBM, HPC and GPGPUs has been completed, the elbe team offers a broad variety of thesis topics, for either Bachelor or Master theses or Project theses.
