Celebrating a Milestone: Carlotta Langer's successful Doctorate at the Institute for Data Science Foundations

We are delighted to announce that our esteemed colleague, Carlotta Langer, has successfully completed her doctorate with distinction. Her dissertation with the title “Information Integration in Embodied Systems” not only sets a high academic standard but also paves the way for innovative research in the field of Embodied AI and Mathematical Consciousness Science.

Carlotta is the first graduate of the Institute for Data Science Foundations, marking a significant milestone in our institution's young history. Carlotta received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mathematics from the Martin Luther University Halle Wittenberg and later joined the research group “Information Theory of Cognitive Systems” of Nihat Ay at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences. She started her dissertation project in 2019 within the Priority Programme “The Active Self” of the German Research Foundation (DFG, SPP 2134).

We are proud to share that Carlotta will continue her research journey with us as a post-doctoral researcher. In this new role, she will further develop her research agenda, thereby continuing her ongoing projects and collaborations. This will undoubtedly enrich the academic and research environment at our institute.

The entire team at the Institute for Data Science Foundations congratulates Carlotta on her extraordinary achievement and wishes her continued success in her future endeavors. We look forward to her contributions and the exciting research that lies ahead.
