Hotel Hafen Hamburg is the venue of the 7^th International Workshop on Aircraft System Technologies - AST 2019. Situated on the top of the roofs of Hamburg’s port, the Hotel is known for its unique atmosphere.

During the breaks of the workshop, you will have a marvellous view on the river Elbe with ships of all sizes and nationalities passing by. In walking distance you will find the old ‘Elbtunnel’, worth to have a look inside, the ‘Landungsbrücken’, where many small tourist boats come and go all day long inviting you to sightseeing tours showing all places of interest, some of which you certainly have already heard of.

In your leisure time, you might want to walk upstream into the centre of Hamburg with the town-hall and the lake Alster surrounded by parks and gardens, numerous canals, public parks, residential areas, embassies and well-known hotels. Downstream you pass the terminal for ferries to Great Britain, the area of the famous ‘fish market’, where early risers or late night owls can enjoy themselves on Sunday mornings, and you will be on your way to Övelgönne, where the new ‘Elbtunnel’ passes and Hamburg’s beach area starts.
