Global Soil Health, Water and Climate

With a particular focus on soil, water, big data and informatics, the Research Cluster “The Global Soil Health, Water and Climate” fosters the use of advanced data analytics, sensing technology, artificial intelligence, and state-of-the-art technologies to explore, interpret and develop predictive capabilities to a wide range of environmental processes with an emphasis on soil health and water in a changing climate. This enables researchers to gain valuable insights into the intricate relationships between human activities, water management, environmental processes, agriculture, and global changes.

One of the primary areas of investigation in this research cluster is the study of global changes in relation to soil health and water resources and how data analytics, informatics and engineering tools could be utilized to identify patterns, trends, and potential drivers of changes in soil, water, and environment. This knowledge is essential for developing effective strategies to mitigate the adverse impacts of global change and ensure the sustainable management of natural resources

This cluster is led by Prof. Dr. Nima Shokri, the Founding co-Director of the UNU Hub at TUHH. For more information about this cluster contact nima.shokri@tuhh.de
