What is our incubation programm?
The core of the incubation programme is personal consulting, networking and a series of workshops with topics such as market research & business model canvas, team development, customer development, corporate culture & values or pricing and sales. In TUHH's own startup centre, we form crews to optimise the direct exchange between the programme teams. Crews are groups of four to ten founding teams in the early phase who receive all the services offered by the Startup Port @TUHH - together and simultaneously.
Participation in the incubation programme is not mandatory. We advise and support all innovative startups with the elements of the Startup Port @TUHH. How we can best support you can best be worked out in an initial meeting. And if you just want to get an idea of what it's like to found a startup, even without an idea, you are of course welcome to attend our events or simply drop by.
In 2025, we will also be able to offer an independent programme for female founders as part of EXIST Women funding from the BMWK.
Female founders as individual founders or in a team with a joint startup idea. The programme should be used to further concretise this idea and, for example, to prepare an EXIST startup grant application. It is important that you have not yet founded a company and/or have not yet taken part in a startup support programme. Details on the legal conditions can be found in the guidelines here (sorry, only in german).
Written documents must be submitted and pitched in front of a jury. The following timeline applies:
We expect a high level of motivation and a full commitment to advancing your own startup idea. We want the TUHH scholarship holders to become a group in which each individual benefits to the maximum from the close exchange and the time spent together in a similar situation. To this end, we expect participation in the kick-off event, the workshop weekend and the reflection workshops that take place every three to four months. Participation in further workshops at the TUHH or other universities in the ecosystem is voluntary and should only serve your progress.
You can find the template here.

The TUHH Founder Boost Camp is a two-day intensive program where you’ll learn the fundamentals of business model development. It’s the perfect training to kick-start your own startup idea. Additionally, it serves as preparation for the optional Startup Port@TUHH incubation program, which begins in April (see details above).
The Boost Camp is designed for scientists and Master’s students nearing the end of their studies.
As a team: You can join as a team of 2-3 people in the idea phase. As an individual: You can also participate as an individual looking to join a team.
The workshop equips you with the essential tools to decide if starting your own company is right for you. It also allows you to test your startup idea to determine its feasibility and identify the steps needed for development.
Last but not least, the results are the basis for further funding, such as an EXIST start-up grant (up to 150,000 euros), EXIST research transfer (up to 1.2 million euros) or state funding from the City of Hamburg (up to 130,000 euros).
The results form the basis for optional participation in the Startup Port @TUHH incubation programme (starting in April 2025) or further individual support from the Startup Port @TUHH.
To participate, complete the application form (available here) and send it to startupport@tuhh.de by 3 March 2025.
