Abstract: The paper reports on approaches to analyse the wave-resistance in calm-water conditions. Attention is drawn to the enhancement of the computational efficiency. Emphasis is given to an appropriate initialisation and consideration of the individual time-scales of transport properties. Examples included refer to the KVLCC2 tanker at Re=4.6 10^6 and Fn=0.142 as well as Kriso Container Ship (KCS) at Re=1.4 10^7 and Fn=0.26. Results indicate a reduction of wall-clock-time by more than one order of magnitude in conjuction with the present approach.
