Panel Code panMARE
The panel code panMARE (panel Code for Maritime Applications and REsearch) is a command driven program aimed to simulate arbitrary potential flows in marine applications.
The program is based on a three-dimensional low-order panel method, in which the geometry of the considered body is discretised into flat quadrilateral elements. Adequate boundary conditions are applied on the discretised body and a linear system of equations is solved in order to obtain a local velocity and pressure distribution on the body.
Numerous extensions of panMARE enrich the numerical simulations for specific use cases. These techniques extend the code's applicability for specific cases, so that the use cases of panMARE range from ship acoustics with sheet cavitation to free surfaces and floating offshore wind turbines.
