Gerhard Bauch, head of the Institute of Communications was elected as Vice President Mobile Radio of the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society.
The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is the world’s largest technical professional organization. Its objectives are the educational and technical advancement of electrical and electronic engineering, telecommunications, computer engineering and allied disciplines.
The technical organizational units of IEEE are societies with certain technical focus. The fields of interest of the Vehicular Technology Society (VTS) include mobile communications, land mobile services, airborne mobile services, maritime mobile services, vehicular electrotechnology equipment and systems, land transportation, railroad and mass transit.
The technical areas are associated with three society vice presidents for mobile radio, mobile vehicles, and land transportation, respectively.
