Research

Our research focuses on developing theoretical concepts and empirical applications in the fields of

  • Human Resource Management (e.g., job satisfaction),
  • Organizations (e.g., virtual organizations),
  • Strategic and International Management (e.g., cooperation in strategic alliances, international strategy), and
  • Marketing (e.g., customer satisfaction and loyalty).

The institute also does much research related to partial least squares (PLS) path modeling - a method to empirically measure - causal relationships. Besides being the head of the HRMO Institute, Prof. Ringle is the MD of the SmartPLS software development team, which concentrates on PLS path modeling's methodological expansions, their software implementation, and application in empirical business research [www.smartpls.de].

Moreover, the institute is one of four partners at TUHH researching into the implications of aging populations on innovation and product development (Innoage).

Please have look into our overview of past publications and presentations for further information on the above fields of research.

Finally, the institute hosts TUHH’s own research paper and seminar series. Especially, authors working or studying at TUHH are invited to publish and present in the series, yet guest researchers are welcome, too.
