Dimitrios Komilis

Dr. Komilis is a full professor at the Dept. of Environmental Engineering of the Democritus University of Thrace in Xanthi (Greece) and head of the laboratory of solid and hazardous waste management there. He has been teaching courses on solid waste management and applied statistics. He gained his post-graduate degrees (1995, 1999) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (USA). His research interests focus on all aspects of municipal solid waste management, compost stability indices and organic waste valorization. He has co-authored more than 80 articles in peer-reviewed journals and has been a scholar-fellow-grantee of: the Hellenic Scholar Foundation, Fulbright foundation, NATO, Lilian Voudouris foundation, DAAD, Marie Sklodowska-Curie actions, Generalitat de Catalunya, Erasmus+.
