The goal of the seminar is to discuss current issues in economic policy and to shed light on their relationship to economic theory. Students will first read a current popular science book (in German or English) as well as the relevant scientific literature (in English). Then the individual topics will be presented and critically discussed during the seminar. This term, we will read the following book: "Soccernomics (2022 World Cup Edition): Why France and Germany Win, Why England Is Starting to and Why The Rest of the World Loses" by Simon Kuper and Stefan Szymanski.

20 min group presentation and 10 min critical assessment
