The aim of this course is to demonstrate and discussthe essential role of information technology for innovation and competitiveadvantage of a company. Innovations of the 21st century such as Apple's iPod -and the competiveness advantage that results from it - are more and more basedon information than on physical apparatus. Innovations are embedded ininformation networks and the value of a physical apparatus is based on how muchinformation is processed or made available through the apparatus. In addition, informationtechnologies are the core for management, manufacturing and service processes.
