Subtitle:
Diese Lehrveranstaltung ist Teil des Moduls: Sondergebiete der Strömungsmechanik
Semester:
WiSe 23/24
Course type:
Lecture
Course number:
lv2923_w23
Lecturer:
Prof. Dr. Michael Schlüter, PD Dr. Yan Jin
Description:

This lecture introduces a number of significant research topics in numerical simulation of fluid flows and their up-to-date progresses. Through the lecture, students will learn how to solve real scientific and engineering flow problems, in particular those in processing engineering, using numerical methods. The lecture helps the students to prepare for their master thesis. The detailed contents include:

  • Model development and programing with the CFD code package OpenFOAM;
  • Multiphase flow simulation: Volume-of-Fluid (VoF) method;
  • Multiphase flow simulation: Mixture model;
  • Multiphase flow simulation: Eulerian-Eulerian model;
  • Multiphase flow simulation: Euler-Lagrange method;
  • Modeling and simulation of heat and mass transfer;
  • Modeling and simulation of chemical reaction;
  • Techniques of dynamic mesh;
  • Simulation of interfacial mass transfer of bubbly flows and comparison with experiments.
